Study in Philippines
The established route to an MBBS
For Indian students set on medicine, the Philippines is one of the most travelled routes. Instruction is in English, the curriculum is American in structure, and the qualification is recognised for practice in India provided the National Medical Commission requirements are met.

Why Philippines
Taught in English
There is no local-language requirement for the degree or for hospital rotations, which is not true of every medical destination.
An American-structured curriculum
The programme runs as a pre-medical stage followed by the MD, which maps onto the US system and suits students who may sit the USMLE later.
A well-worn path
Large numbers of Indian students already study there, so the process, the paperwork and the pitfalls are thoroughly understood.
Colleges we place students with in the Philippines
UV Gullas College of MedicineCebuOne of the longest-running choices for Indian students in Cebu, with a large Indian cohort already on campus.
PLTCI College of MedicineSolano, Nueva VizcayaFormally Purisimo L. Tiam College, Inc. A smaller intake in northern Luzon, which suits students who would rather not be one of several hundred in a year group.
The Manila Times College School of MedicineManilaBased in Manila, with the teaching hospitals of the capital available for clinical rotations.
Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc.DavaoEstablished in 1976 and long familiar to Indian applicants, in the south of the country.
Which of these suits you depends on your NEET score, your budget and where you would rather live. We go through the trade-offs on the call rather than pushing one college.
Courses and intakes
A pre-medical stage followed by the Doctor of Medicine, alongside other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Medical intakes are usually mid-year and late in the year, and vary by university. We confirm the specific dates for your shortlist.
What you will need
- Passport
- Academic transcripts
- Degree certificate
- English test score
- Statement of purpose
- Letters of recommendation
- Resume / CV
- Financial statement
- NEET scorecard
- Class 10 & 12 marksheets
This is the same checklist we track for you inside our system, so nothing is remembered twice.
9(F) student visa
- A qualifying NEET score is mandatory for an Indian student who intends to practise in India — this is not a formality.
- An eligibility certificate from the National Medical Commission is what makes the degree usable at home.
- Medical clearance and vaccination records form part of the application.
- Students often enter on a temporary visitor visa and convert to the 9(F) after enrolment.
Rules on foreign medical qualifications set by the National Medical Commission have changed before and carry real consequences for licensing. We go through the current requirements with you in detail before you commit.
Requirements and entitlements are set by each country's government and change from time to time. We confirm the current position for your intake before you apply.
